Writing Towards God finishes as first-ever CI writing workshop series

The Collegeville Institute recently closed-out our Writing Toward God: the Sacred for the Perplexed first-ever digital writing workshop series. Led by Mary Lane Potter, nine writers followed visionary poets and storytellers for six weeks to re-envision God/The Sacred for our time.

Denise Lajimodiere appointed ND Poet Laureate

Last month, Denise Lajimodiere, who was a spring semester short-term resident writer at the Collegeville Institute, was selected to be the Poet Laureate of North Dakota. She is a citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band in Belcourt, North Dakota, and is an accomplished poet, writer, and academic.

Exploring Identity and (Dis)belonging, a big city, big ideas experience

The Collegeville Institute’s first regional workshop for the year, Exploring Identity and (Dis)belonging through the Personal Essay, finished up late last month. It took place from April 16 - 23. Led by Enuma Okoro, 9 participants as well as Collegeville Institute Director of Program Services Carla Durand experienced 7 days of writing and reflecting in New York City.

2022-23 Resident Scholars program caps off peaceful, productive year

It feels like it just started yesterday, but the 2022/23 resident scholars program concluded on April 28, after 8 months of dedicated research, writing, rest, and community building. Our 28 resident scholars for this year came from far and wide as Singapore, and as close by as Minneapolis. They included professors, artists, activists, religious leaders, and writers.

Collegeville Institute alumni featured in Church Anew event

On April 23 and 24, the Collegeville Institute joined Church Anew in in co-sponsoring “An Evening with Kate Bowler” and "Renew". The Collegeville Institute was well represented at this two-day event by program alums Dr. Deanna Thompson, Rev. Angela Khabeb, Rev. Andrea Roske-Metcalfe, and Dr. Kate Bowler.
