From September 25 – October 1, 2018, a group of pastors and faith leaders met at the Gray Center in Canton, Mississippi for the regional Collegeville Institute writing workshop Mapping the Geography of Grace: A Writing Workshop for Clergy. Participants had the opportunity to workshop each others’ writing, as well as work independently on their own projects. The workshop was led by Robert Benson, who took the group on a field trip to Eudora Welty’s home nearby. One participant reflected: “Robert Benson is an outstanding group leader. He is sensitive, informative, and encouraging. He gave excellent practical advice on how to develop a disciplined process for producing good writing and how to get it published.” When asked what they would take away from this experience, another participant wrote: “Writing 600 words per session is practical and I can see myself doing it.” Like this post?
