The Challenges of Health Care in Minnesota January 12, 2017 By Collegeville Institute Leave a Comment The Collegeville Institute Fellows gathered for a two-day meeting beginning on Monday, January 9th, 2017 to discuss “The Challenges of Health Care in Minnesota.” Guest presenters included: Donna J. Zimmerman, Vice President of government and community relations of Minnesota-based HealthPartners, the largest consumer-governed, nonprofit health care organization in the nation. Dr. Greg Plotnikoff, a board-certified internist and pediatrician who has received national and international honors for his work in cross-cultural and integrative medicine. Kathleen (Katia) M. McDonough, MS, RN, WHCNP, nurse practitioner with Hennepin County Red Door Clinic Services focusing on sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, and affiliate faculty for clinical education, University of Minnesota School of Nursing Amie Schumacher, MS, Chaplain at St. Cloud Hospital, and an expert on the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) study and the impact of adverse childhood experiences on health, and what faith communities can do.
