  • Writing Workshops
      • Each summer, the Collegeville Institute opens its doors to pastors, ministers, lay leaders, and other thinkers and writers for week-long, intensive writing workshops geared toward various levels of writing skill, genre and interest.
        Each fall, the Collegeville Institute partners with other institutes, seminaries, or churches to coordinate regional off-site workshops.

    We are currently accepting applications for short term residencies between September 1, 2021 and April 29, 2022. PLEASE NOTE: The Collegeville Institute will NOT be accepting applications for Spring 2021 due to a renovation project. Specific dates will be finalized in conversation with the Program Manager.

  • Letter of Recommendation

    It is the responsibility of the applicant to request one letter of recommendation to be sent to the Admissions Committee of the Collegeville Institute by the application deadline. Recommenders may send their letter to the Admissions Committee by emailing staff@collegevilleinstitute.org with the name of the applicant in the subject line of the email, or by mail to Collegeville Institute, PO Box 2000, Collegeville, MN 56321.     The Collegeville Institute is located on a wildlife refuge and is adjacent to a bird sanctuary and wetlands restoration area. As such, no pets are allowed, and all residents must follow posted regulations concerning these areas. • The Collegeville Institute is located adjacent to Stumpf Lake, regarding which no swimming, nor winter activities on the ice are permitted. • All residents and family members are urged to exercise caution when they are near the water/ice. • The Collegeville Institute is located in a rural area, and public transportation is very limited (almost non-existent). • The Collegeville Institute's indoor facilities are smoke-free.
