Saadat Gifts Painting to Collegeville Institute October 28, 2017 By Collegeville Institute Leave a Comment Painting gifted to the Collegeville Institute titled: “The Word God – Great in All Languages.” On Saturday, October 21, 2017, Dr. Manoochehr (Manny) Saadat gifted an original painting to the Collegeville Institute at a dinner and dedication held at the Butler Center. The dinner was followed by the play Nathan the Wise, which the Collegeville Institute helped produce in honor of its 50th Anniversary. Dr. Saadat is an Islamic, Iranian-born American who worked as a Pediatrician in the Twin Cities for a number of years. The painting, done in 1995 in response to “horrible violence in the Middle East, Northern Ireland, and elsewhere during the Christmas Holidays of 1994” depicts the earth in space, and the word “God” translated into 33 languages. The land mass pictured on the earth is the area of the Middle East. The painting is entitled: “The Word God – Great in All Languages.” Saadat chose to donate the painting to the Collegeville Institute so that it will be viewed and appreciated by a diversity of people, and will inspire interfaith respect and understanding.
