Poetry, Prose and Prayer July 5, 2016 By Collegeville Institute Leave a Comment 2016 Poetry, Prose, and Prayer workshop participants: Sharon Chmielarz, Gail Tyson, Regina Bechtle, Susan Spindler, Marisella Veiga, Joanne Nelson, Michael Dennis Browne, Lynn Domina, Melanie Zuercher, Meg Kuyatt, John Rollefson, Anna Lisa Gross, and Sean Denmark. Poets and prose writers alike gathered at the Collegeville Institute last week for Poetry, Prose and Prayer: A Week with Michael Dennis Browne. This group of writers had long stretches of uninterrupted time to spend on their own projects, as well as common workshop time to discuss their craft and offer valuable feedback to one another. When asked about what two aspects of the workshop were most helpful, one participant reflected: “These five days have given me a better grasp of technical craftsmanship and formative questions to ask myself, such as: what kind of rhythmical experience do I want a reader to have?” Another participant shared this feedback about workshop facilitator Michael Dennis Browne, “I would easily recommend Michael’s workshops to other writers. He is energetic, extremely well-read and experienced, sincerely invested in the work of others, and he also has a great sense of humor.” Like this post?
