Announcing 2021-22 Emerging Writers Cohort August 10, 2021 By Collegeville Institute Leave a Comment The Collegeville Institute has selected five writers to participate in the 2021-22 Emerging Writers Mentorship Program: Angie Hong, Sarah Ngu, Zeena Regis, Natarsha Sanders, and Sophia Stid. The 13-month program gives participants the opportunity to work closely with a writing mentor to hone and deepen their writing skills, as well as the opportunity to publish regularly on Bearings Online. 2021-22 Emerging Writers Mentorship Program cohort (from top left to right): Michael N. The cohort met for a virtual workshop on July 30 – August 1 where participants shared and critiqued first essay drafts and met with the editors of Bearings Online. Writing mentors Michael N. McGregor and Sophfronia Scott gave craft lectures on writing the spiritual essay, writing profiles and reporting-based articles, writing opinion pieces, revision, and spiritual magazine content. In addition, guest presenters Patrice Gopo and Daniel José Camacho spoke to the group about their experiences in writing and publishing.
