Dancing on the Head of a Pen: A Writing Workshop for Clergy Nov. 12-18, 2018December 7, 2018 By Collegeville Institute Leave a Comment 2018 Dancing on the Head of a Pen 2018 workshop participants. In mid-November, a group of writers gathered at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland, MA for the Dancing on the Head of a Pen writing workshop led by Robert Benson. During structured morning sessions, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the craft of writing. Afternoons were left open for personal writing, walking, or resting. In the evenings, participants read their work aloud to each other. One participant remarked that their favorite aspect was “listening to my peers read their pieces.” When asked to reflect on Robert Benson’s instruction style, one participant wrote in their evaluation: “He is profound, insightful, directive, encouraging, funny, engaging, and formative in my growth as a writer. I cannot say just how much he made the conference so profound. I changed when I was there. Transformed, really. I owe him a huge debt of gratitude.” Like this post?
