Stations of the Heart is a funny and poignant theatrical song cycle exploring the joys and heartaches of love, filtered through a contemporary sensibility and rooted in the recognition that “love may be beautiful, but it sure isn’t pretty.” Composer George Maurer will be a Resident Scholar at the Collegeville Institute in Spring 2022. This production features a strong cast of singer-actors, led by the composer Maurer himself at the piano. It combines the lyrical finesse of the Great American Songbook with the sophisticated compositions of one of the Twin Cities most celebrated jazz musicians.
