Married Saints? Come to know Georges and Pauline Vanier

Mary Frances Coady, writer for the Catholic New Times, Instructor at the School of Professional Communication at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada and Collegeville Institute Resident Scholar introduced us to this remarkable couple— Georges and Pauline Vanier—who have had a profound impact on Canadian institutions, history, politics, and culture. The Vaniers have been presented as possible candidates for beatification in the Roman Catholic Church. They are also the parents of Jean Vanier, founder of the global network of L’Arche communities.

Mary Frances discussed the question of who and what is a saint, and how married people, living in ordinary circumstances, doing no heroic external deeds, become saints.
