Healing Stories A Day of Writing and YogaSeptember 9, 2024 By Event Details Date: Saturday, Oct 26th, 2024, 9:00 am Venue: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Harrisville Room Categories: Writing Workshop Writing and Yoga are two powerful, transformational spiritual practices that can bring us closer to God, ourselves, and each other. As a writer and yoga teacher, Ellie Roscher loves to pair writing, breath and movement in a way that invites us to inhabit our bodies and experience deeper embodiment. In this one day writing workshop, Ellie will lead participants through breath work, body movement, writing prompts and discussion to unlock and explore our bodies as writers. Our bodies are always talking to our minds, and we are always telling ourselves stories. Sometimes the stories we tell ourselves to heal are ready to be revised and experience some healing of their own. Give yourself the gift of nourishing time to write, move, breathe, read, and connect in community in a way that ushers in deeper healing and wholeness. Embrace words and silence. Engage with and create art on the page. Show your body self-compassion through gentle movement. This is a day of remembering, of coming back home to yourself with the invitation to claim and share your embodied healing story as spiritual practice. To prepare for our gathering, participants will be asked to: read a short reading, complete a writing prompt, and practice a brief meditation. Materials for these preparations will be sent two weeks before the workshop. This workshop is open to all levels of writers and no yoga experience is required.
