Building the Collegevillle Institute April 21, 2017 By Collegeville Institute Leave a Comment The following quote came from a speech by Fr. Kilian McDonnell, OSB, at the 1987 spring luncheon at the Collegeville Institute. The speech was originally printed in the 1987 spring issue of Ecumenical People, Programs, and Papers. “When the buildings were being planned, I instructed the architect, Marcel Breuer, that there must be a chapel in the administration building. If ecumenism is not built on prayer, it is built on sand. That prayer dimension was to be architecturally visible.” Construction of the Collegeville Institute buildings in 1967, which were designed by famed architect Marcel Breuer. Like this post?
