ESÉNI, KUMRÁN A ZVITKY OD MŔTVEHO MORAAugust 28, 2015 By Collegeville Institute Frantsek Trstensky* Florentino Garcia Martinez Verbum – vydavateľstvo KU, 2015 Visit this title » This scientific book provides some basic information about the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the excavations of Khirbet Qumran, which belong among the most exciting and the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. The scientific book gives a comprehensive overview, how scholars are divided about who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls and how the texts got to Qumran. Some scholars argue that the scrolls were written at the site itself while others say they were written in Jerusalem or elsewhere in Israel. Some of the scrolls may have been written by the people of Qumran while collecting others. Many scholars believe that the people of Qumran were Essenes or somehow related to this sectarian group of ancient Judaism. *Collegeville Institute Resident Scholar Like this post?
