St John’s Abbey, Collegeville, Minnesota
For Michael Dennis Browne
Concrete ribs cage a breath
of sky; we stir
the slumbering wind,
firing it against
the brutalist immensity
in a spray of song;
stained glass bleeds
gold on our skin;
a ricochet
lingers
like the rumor
of God.

This poem is as beautiful as the church. Words, songs, architecture. All glorifying God.
