Richard Peterson
Dr. Richard Peterson is Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of New England, in Biddeford, Maine. He holds an interdisciplinary doctorate in environmental studies, centered mostly in environmental anthropology and environmental ethics, and is author of the book, Conversations in the Rainforest: Culture, Values, and the Environment in Central Africa. He was a participant in the 2017 Collegeville Institute writing workshop Writing Beyond the Academy with Michael N. McGregor. He and his wife and two sons live in Portland, Maine, on the edge of an 85-acre conservation sanctuary that often makes its way into his poems.
