Brett Webb-Mitchell
Brett is a pilgrim, speaker, writer, teacher, pastor, dad, partner, pet lover, and is currently the Spiritual Life Director of L'Arche Portland. In 1999, Brett went on his first pilgrimage with members of the Pilgrimage of Vocation of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe, NM, to Chimayó, NM, and nothing has been the same. Since then, he studied the contours of pilgrimage while at the Collegeville Institute as a Resident Scholar (1999/00), and has been on pilgrimage in India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, the Holy Land, the British Isles, Spain, and Central America, usually returning every once in a while, going back to Chimayó, NM. He has written three books on pilgrimage: Follow Me (NY: Seabury Press); School of the Pilgrim (Louisville: W/JKP); and Practicing Pilgrimage (Eugene: Cascade Books).
