Michael Hemesath
Michael Hemesath is an economist who has worked in higher education as a faculty member and administrator for 35 years. He learned about the Benedictines and earned his bachelor's degree at Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN and his MA and Ph.D. at Harvard University. He has taught at Tufts University, Carleton College, and in Russia and Ukraine. Michael served as the first lay president of Saint John's University from 2012-2019 and is currently a professor at Carleton College. He lives in Northfield, MN with his theologian wife, sons Cameron, Sebastian and Alexander, and their Golden Retriever, Winston.
