Campaign Summary

Ecumenical Programming - $630,000

Each of our invitational programs costs approximately $35,000, which includes travel, room and board, materials, and stipends for invited participants.  The fund will provide for a number of consultations over the coming years. It will also allow the Institute to hold consultations away from campus when the opportunity arises.

Support for Scholars - $540,000

It costs approximately $12,000 to support a scholar from abroad for an academic year, including room and board, insurance, and pocket money for events and entertainment. It costs approximately $8,000 to underwrite a scholar from North America for a one-year stay.  The cost for attracting a scholar of international reputation is between $50,000 and $100,000.  Meeting our financial goal in this area will allow us to bring two or three scholars from abroad and/or three or four scholars from North America to the Institute annually over a six-year period. It also will enable us to attract several acclaimed scholars to the Institute during that same time period.

Landmark Fund - $700,000

Collegeville Institute - Butler Center

The Landmark Fund will provide for the complete renovation and refurnishing of ten apartments at a cost of $36,300 each.  It will allow for modernization and upgrades for the Butler Center at $45,000, a new electrical transformer for the campus at $32,000, and the construction of a three-season pavilion on the campus for $60,000.  It will also create a building reserve and maintenance fund of $200,000 to assist in assuring upgrades and unexpected repairs for the campus.

Campaign Expenses (less than 7%) - $130,000

Campaign Goal  -  $2,000,000

Institute Endowment Funds

We also hope to add $1 million to the Endowment Fund to assure greater support for the Institutes's annual operations, and to provide reserve funds for unexpected facility maintenance costs.  In addition, we seek gifts to endow the annual residency of an acclaimed international scholar.
